GIANT DRAGONFLY IN FLIGHT

This is New Zealands giant native dragonfly (Kapokapowai) Uropetaia carovei Its one of the fastest fliers in the insect world and can apparently catch up to 20 house flies a day as well as other insects inflight.

Boy! I thought taking pix of birds in flight was tough but these critters are a challenge. I might go back to birds - its easier - although they both have their attractions and I was happy with this result.
