If you can't beat them...

The wrong road.

A dry fine day even sunny at times.  We left the site about 9:30 taking the wrong direction, we soon realised the road was a dead end.  This detour did give us a second chance to see the little village of Applecross.

Having got ourselves pointing in the right direction we were soon travelling over moorland surrounded by the towering mountains.  As the day progressed we passed lochs and moors, travelled single track roads and some that seemed barely single track.  Slowly the roads widened and the surface improved.  Suddenly instead of being surrounded by wild moorland we were among farms and fields.

Then we reached the Black Isle, before long we were on the bridge over the Ness estuary.  Just beyond Inverness lay our site, with the reserved pitch and the best showers I have seen on any site.
