Silent Bells, Bristol Cathedral

I badly needed some quiet time, so I headed to Bristol Cathedral.

In the sacristy there is a sculpture/installation by Lyn Harradine, called Silent Bells. It's a 6x5 grid of 30 handmade unglazed white porcelain bells hanging silently on fishing line, a work to mark 15 years passing since the death of Harradine's daughter, who was killed by a car when she was 15 years old.

This is one of my favourite areas of the whole cathedral. It's a small space and most people probably don't spend much time in it. I like the open-rib vaulted roof, and I like this installation very much too.
