Diary of an Edinburgher

Wee visitor

Jordan came to collect Archie this morning, and just after they set off the rain started. But it did not deter Jordan - Archie had a big walk into the Hermitage and they both came home soaked. But they also came home with wee Isobel and Sarah, whom they'd met on the way. Such a treat to see the wee lass, who's changing daily. She's very alert and taking an interest in everything, even a wet smelly dog.

In the afternoon, one of Archie's former walkers, Camilla, came to visit. She has at last finished her degree, and is moving to London to try and find a job (she wants to be a detective!) We haven’t seen her for a couple of years, but I had Archie primed at the window to expect her, and so actually, anyone coming in the gate while he's in this high state of excitement would get a fantastic welcome - even the postman (possibly). But Camilla was pleased that he'd 'remembered' her.

Hazel came over to show us her new (big) phone, and Camilla stayed on for an evening of wine and nibbles and Archie being a bit of a pest, going round and round the coffee table looking at the tempting nibbles. He doesn’t usually make quite such a nuisance of himself, which confirms JR's claim that we need a new, higher coffee table...
