Paddle Fishing

Proper summer day. It was boiling hot when we got up and we had a wee exploration of the coast with the fishing rods. Without waders, paddling was the only option to get a cast beyond the sea weed. Warm water and nice paddle, but some things started wriggling under my feet in the sand and I got the heebie jeebies.

When we were done, without any fish, I found some huge mussels under some seaweed. We picked a couple of dozen and took them home to gobble with some garlic, cream and white wine sauce, while we watched the sun go down with a view of the sea. Very romantic - shame we were just smelly fishing friends with no lovely ladies for miles. Not the usual fishy supper, but one of the best.
