Big Fish Day

Back on our favourite Loch Hope. The weather was a bit changeable but the wind was good for a while and blowing from the southwest (good for fishing).

Halfway over a drift, there was a big silver swirl at my fly and the line went tight. I raised the rod into a big salmon. It went on some fast runs, jumped all over the place and I struggled to keep in control.

Dave got on the oars and rowed us to keep up with the fish so I didn't run out of line. After 1 hour of the most epic fish battle I have ever had, I landed the salmon which was about 12lbs. My best ever on Loch Hope. A very special day.
