Salvage from the Wreckage

Biking and Striking

Off early to park just outside work. With the mountain bike in the back of the van.

A couple of hours picketing - handing fliers to people arriving for work. Most people happy to engage. A few making no eye contact and driving past.

Then a rather turgid meeting to discuss tactics for the rest of the strike. Not sure whether I’ll picket again - lots to do in this extra holiday!

Afterwards, pausing only to put a new inner tube on the bike, I set off with Chris to climb the big Bow Brickhill hill. Chain came off but still caught and overtook C! But after that, he was the one waiting for me as we made our way along some great, specially-prepared MTB routes. My bike has tyres which are supposed to provide a compromise between off-road grip and on road lack of rolling resistance. But could have done with more grip!

Must go back. Felt tired afterwards but had to rouse myself for Monday 5 a side - at a new venue whilst the sports hall has a new floor!
