Arbroath

A visit to Arbroath today as it is quite a long time since we were last here. As I was quite hungry when we arrived I decided it was time for an early lunch at the "Old Boatyard" restaurant, just to the left of the picture.

It was cool in Arbroath with a strong cold wind and frequent showers. We had a short walk along the front during which I took this photograph of the Signal Tower Museum. Had it been open I might have gone in.

We had a chat with a lady in the shop next to the restaurant. She was telling us that her business has really suffered as a result of charging for parking next to the harbour, and in particular as a result of the closure of the tourist office. She said the restaurant has also suffered due to these factors.

On the way back we stopped in Stonehaven where next to the harbourr it felt less windy, though there were far fewer people around than would be normal for a Sunday
