Lacebark....

Christmas Day is here. Merry Christmas to all our family and friends scattered throughout the world. Keith, Duncan and I have had a quiet relaxed day... such a change from past, sometimes riotous, Christmas celebrations. Duncan, Maisie the dog and I went on a long riverside walk early this morning. Lots of folk were out with their dogs and it was great to catch up with friends. It was a lovely walk. We are very interested and impressed at the beautiful selection of native trees and shrubs that a special landscape group and our Council have planted alongside the river. I fell in love with this Lacebark, aka “Hoheria augustifolia” blossom. So delicate, so beautiful. Thanks to Facebook’s “Plant Identification NZ”group members for their help in identifying this lovely tree.
