'Poverty is no longer my daily companion'

IMPACT's Jibon Tari floating hospital provides a lifeline for underserved communities in Bangladesh. The medical team on board dispense medical care, physiotherapy and surgery to reverse disabling conditions.

Last year almost 6,000 men, women and children had their sight, hearing or movement restored, or cleft lip repaired.

Local health workers are trained and health education delivered to remote communities, leaving behind skills and knowledge once the boat moves on.

Thanks to treatment, men and women can return to work to support their families. As one cataract patient told us, 'Poverty is no longer my daily companion'.
