Have you ever squabbled over who is to be represented by one of the different Monopoly tokens? It's something about which people can become quite exercised at the beginning of an otherwise friendly game!

But now the arguments about who'll be the racing car, Scottie dog or top hat could be consigned to history. Instead players could be vying for the right to be represented on the board by a cat, a helicopter or a diamond ring. Hasbro, the game's manufacturer, is to ditch one of the tokens and replace it with one that "reflects the interests of today's players". A global vote will give fans the chance to save the piece they like best and pick between five potential replacements which also include a guitar and a robot!

I think I'll stick with the racing car!
