ExtraDays at the Butterfly House, Pacific Grove

We took a little field trip to neighboring Pacific Grove: the yarn store and the consignment shop are a must for me and ExtraDays when she is visiting. On our way home I remembered to swing by this wonder. I've included a remarkably poor panorama to give you an idea of the scope of this art piece, which started out as a regular house in a regular neighborhood, which you can see at the sides of the pano. The backstory is that when owner Sonja began to lose her eyesight, husband J realized she could still see bright colors and, one butterfly at a time, this place evolved as a love song to his wife. There's a tribute to Hillary interwoven in the flowers, and Obama and Rosa Parks are honored as well.
