Overgrown garden in need of weeding.

Somewhere in under all that, there was once a garden, but it has been far too long since the garden had a good weeding. So after the recent rains, I have been trying to get out there and pull out some. I am very good at getting side-tracked, so after getting about a barrow load out of there, we went to check on the progress of some seedling Nikaus we had planted back in late June.
Five out of the six are doing well, the other, looks rather brown, but have left it for the time being to see what will happen. The area we planted three of them in, is below the house. Back in May & June last year we cleared away a lot of trees, as they were getting too close to the house, which could be a fire hazard. But the weeds have now moved in there. I found these were easy pulling, so managed to get a good sized area done here. Found numerous "Old Man Beard" seedlings - very undesirable plants to have, but found some bonus ones as well: Tamarillo (Tree Tomatoe), Black Passionfruit, Cape Gooseberries, and some NZ native tree Fushsias. Lots of Foxgloves (had to leave a patch of those!), Deadly Nightshade (or Black Nightshade, never sure which is which), ragwort, grasses, Lotus (Lotus uliginosus) and dozens of tiny other seedlings. Was watching for some clematis seedlings but didn't see any of those. Maybe next time.
