Fever Pitch

Those of you who drink, will understand the title. Not that I drink much, the occasional ½ pint of Aspall as you well know. And perhaps a glass of wine if we go out for dinner.

Another rare treat is a tall glass, 1 shot of Grand Marnier (or Cointreau) topped up with tonic water and a cube of ice - inspired by a Canadian girl friend in my younger days (wonder what happened to her, lovely girl, lost touch).

Last night was great. Côte excelled as usual. £11:99 for 3 courses (special offer for mail listers). And better still we were treated by our friend. Home late. Was so mild, could’ve been a summer evening.

Meeting S for lunch - more food - for a hopefully light lunch at ‘Twelve’ (vegan). I’m usually tempted by their scrambled Tofu on toast.

Then one more meal out tomorrow and with luck that’s the end of La Grand Bouffe (did any of you see that classic 1973 film - ‘The Big Feast’ - “ A pilot (Marcello Mastroianni), a cook (Ugo Tognazzi), a TV star (Michel Piccoli) and a judge decide to gorge themselves to death on fine cuisine”?  One for me to see again ).

Sunny, 11C due. Tomorrow temperatures dip.

My blip is for Ingeborg’s ‘Patterns challenge. They must sell these bottles at a fever pitch!  And they make an attractive abstract pattern, enhanced by the designs on the caps
