ON A HOT DAY....

.... even the roses are struggling!
Normally roses are renowned for dry hot summers and surviving - even thriving!
But this season they are struggling, and reckon it's more about the smoky skies and fire residue all too often.
The horrendous conditions came to be today - and new fires started in a couple of spots, and old ones flared up - but again thankfully the fire fighters have reacted and the winds not as bad as predicted. A change follows, and looks like some rain again.

My sister and family in Kangaroo Island South Australia, have been pummelled with fire burning through more than half of the Island over the last couple of days. She is presently in Kingscote and okay. Her daughter and partner have so far escaped, with their area of Vivonne Bay still an area of concern. But the cool change has brought some rain today so hoping enough to stop the progress.

Thanks to Biker Bear for continued hosting of Flower Friday.

Have a look in LARGE and the Fire Fighting planes are still very busy.
