Sally Mair - Loving life

The first

Lovely to see the first Snowdrop almost out in the garden today. It's been a strange day, I went to church this morning, there were 10 of us there for morning prayer which was pretty good, especially on such a wild morning.
Back home in time to head into town to pick up an order from Laura Ashley. I then walked home. I had hoped to stop for some soup in Bon Papillon but I'd forgotten that they always go away for most of January... next time.
I went into Aesop and treated myself, with some of my Christmas money, to a tube of Tangerine Rind, Vanilla and Sandalwood body balm which I shall use as handcream, a wee bit of luxury. The texture is wonderful and I love the scent of their products but I've always resisted them until now. If you don't know the shop on N W Circus Place then it's worth a visit. They always have tester bottles on the wall outside the shop so you can try samples as you go down the street. Gorgeous, you don't even have to go into the shop to try them. You can tell those who've stopped by the way they're rubbing cream into their hands as they walk on down the road, lol.
I stopped for coffee in a new (to me) coffee shop on Raeburn Place which I think may be called the Green Room or similar, a local independent cafe selling organic and vegan locally produced artisan foods as well as less specialised items. Very busy and very tasty, I continued my walk through Stockbridge and towards home, I took a break for a while and picked up a #24 bus from the Western General round to Telford Road, it was getting quite windy by then.
I've discovered that I can't access any previous month's history on Strava if I set it to record walking however one of their very helpful people suggested that if I just log everything as running I'll be able to access it all fine. So, I must be the slowest runner in Edinburgh, but at least I can access my information for previous months - or at least I will be able to from now on. So if you see me on Strava and it says I've been running, don't believe it!!!
For the first time this year I think, I managed enough steps, 13680 hooray.
