Burns night

I broke my leg mid November and this was the first time out out since then. Burns night, we love it, the sense of family and community is quite something. Needless to say I wasn't quite up for stripping the willow but it's still a great night.
I bought a second hand camera, which, got delivered around the time of my leg break so its not had any outings. Last night was a bit of a practice run with it, but soon realised that the kit 18-55 mm was too short for most photos as the hall is quite large, I 'umm'd' and 'ahh'd' whether to take the 70-300mm but decided against it as it looks like a bazooka in that hall! I think a 24-70 mm f4 will be going on the wish list.
