STONEWARE BOX

One of my old friends - made this in 1969 - my first pottery workshop in an old bakery at 101, Charnwood Road,  Shepshed, Leicestershire. We used the old dinosaur of a bread kneader to prepare our clay!

This is oxidised, heavily grogged porcelain

Grog = ground fired clay which adds body, texture - both tactile & visual.
