Coming apart

Crazy wild weather today! Heavy rain, high winds, and I'm thinking that there's a good chance the power will go out. 
I've been keeping an eye on this stump by our seasonal creek. The bark has been peeling away quite quickly since the creek started running again with all the rain we've had. January has been one of the wettest on record.

The UK leaves the EU, and we just heard that no witnesses will be called in the impeachment trial of Donald Trump. Unbelievable. What a travesty.
It feels like it's all coming apart.   :-((
