Entering Gaza

Today I walked through the Erez checkpoint again. The last time had been almost one year ago. As always I was struck by the absurdity of the place and its space. The over-dimensioned terminal, the shadows on the broken asphalt. But over all the emptiness of the long corridor which leads to you from Israel (as it were the last world's outpost) to the secluded Palestinian strip: the unreachable, untouchable, unmatchable Gaza. I feel happy about being here.
