TARAN - THE GENEROUS BIRTHDAY GIRL

Taran is my colleague and she just had birthday. Most people don't need more stuff when they are turning 60 . It was only one thing that she really deep down wanted: Money to Fagforbundet SOS Children's Village!

The birthday girl was in Angola when the foundation stone was laid in 2006, and has followed the laborious process building the Children's Village until to today. There are kids living in all family homes, the nursery gives children in the area good a better life, the school gives education to about 800 pupils and community program makes vulnerable families gradually more and more independent.

- I am proud and delighted that the trade union has members and representatives who year after year support the Children's Village. For me, the Children's Village gives an opportunity to help the orphaned children and other vulnerable children to get a childhood and an education that will enable them to influence the society. That's solidarity at its best, says Taran excited.
