Gavin Maxwell memorial sculpture

Maxwell was a Scottish naturalist and author, best known for his  book Ring of Bright Water (Watch the trailer of the film). Maxwell told the story of how he brought an otter back from Iraq and raised it in Scotland.  Penny Wheatley was commissioned by Galloway Wildlife Trust to cast, in bronze, this life size sculpture. Maxwell was born in south-western Scotland. and the family's ancient lands are in Monreith where the sculpture is sited. My photo was originally taken with black and white film but I have added colour in Aurora HDR software.
