for Abstract Thursday

I have used a double exposure here to show sewing patterns (Butterick, Simplicity, Style, Vogue)

And my mother and me when I was an infant.

My mother made all the clothes for her 4 children and I have memories of sitting in Clerys Department Store in Dublin as a little girl when my mother spent hours poring over these mighty tomes of patterns trying to chose one.

This is a nostalgic blip for me as I realise now all the work she did and how secretly (as a teenager), I longed for a shop bought dress

I have inherited my mother’s love of clothes ... dresses, skirts, blouses, elegant coats and matching accessories

This is a loving blip paying tribute to my mother
