Love in the Time of Coronavirus

This must have surely been one of the most different of weddings- held on the first day of complete lockdown of any social gatherings. It was held in the Episcopal Church in Melrose with the rector getting permission to go ahead with it.
Apart from the bridal party, there were only 6 other guests and a choir of 4. However it was an intimate and lovely occasion, informal almost, with the rector making it a family affair with his input of humour. It couldn’t have been any more enjoyable.

My grandson piped my stepdaughter into the church and daughter#2 read the passage from Corinthians which was to have been read originally by Ann’s cousin who was absent having contracted Coronavirus at the beginning of last week.
There was confetti and photographs and cake and Prosecco in the church at the end.
Then home by the A7- no lunch reception - a disappointing end to a lovely occasion
