More snow

January challenge for today was "landscape" - so I could hardly miss it. I went out before breakfast to shoot the sunrise over Derwentwater, but what promised to be good just fizzled out - and it was so windy!

Then the snow came. Most of the day was grey, but at around three o'clock, it really started to blizzard, we were near Penrith at the time, and the roads became almost totally impassable within 10 minutes. So nearly got stuck big time. Going up a hill was almost impossible, but I finally managed it by sawing the wheel left and right, to keep digging in the snow. Coming down the next hill was terrifying, as I had no control over brakes, or direction, and somehow managed to get the car to behave round a dry stone wall at the bottom of the hill without hitting it.
