Wet, wet, wet

Back to intermittent torrential rain today - the third very damp day , with a little interlude of drier conditions yesterday morning. It was, as I blipped , a lovely start on Islay but by early afternoon it was spitting rain which had become persistent by the time the ferry left Port Askaig at 3.30.

When I got to Kennacraig two hours later it had turned into a downpour which lasted not just all the way home, but most of the night. The forecast for the coming week is also wet, wet, wet.

The frost over the last ten days and the small amount of snow in the last week has merely and temporarily disguised the fact that the ground is waterlogged and has been for months.

This puddle sits on the lawn behind our house and is growing by the day.
