Arnside Tower Part 2.

About a week ago I blipped a shot of Arnside’s 15th. Century defensive Pele Tower built as a refuge against coastal raiders. That photograph showed the northern and western faces which are still in moderately good condition.

Sadly the southern facing wall collapsed over a hundred years ago after a mighty storm. The eastern face also is in a bad way and it is dangerous to explore the Tower’s interior.

The main shot shows the missing southern wall and an extra shows a large hole in the eastern side.

A second extra shows the makers of Lancashire cheese hard at work.

Another beautiful day of weather.
