Enid Blyton

Another weekend, another lovely day, another family walk. Just occasionally it feels like we’re in the 1950s. We only walked four miles, but encountered other families and occasionally cyclists on the traffic free roads, exchanging pleasantries from a safe distance as the warm weather brightened the day. We strolled past allotmenteers tending their plots and later we sat on the grass near the castle and ate ice cream. The only thing missing was lashings of ginger beer.
