Red Columbine

Monday
It promised to be a fine day, so we drove to Adams County to hike at the Edge of Appalachia Preserve. We have been here several times before, but always hiked the same trail to Buzzards Roost. Today we tried a different trail, which turned out to be relatively short in itself, but it linked up with a section of the Buckeye trail, a 1440 mile trail which circles the state of Ohio. We did about 4.5 miles return, and it was most enjoyable - so peaceful and quiet, we passed very few other people, and you just felt at one with nature. The weather was sunny and warm, and we discovered a few new wildflowers. The wildflower I chose for my blip, is the Red Columbine, a beautiful plant which you often find frequenting rocky areas, and cliff tops.
