"But please ..."

Saturday 2nd May 2020

Early evening I heard some squeals and laughter coming from the bottom of the garden. On investigation I found Jenny and her brother Tim on the Magnolia. They had found the guardian angel and were asking her if they could go on holiday and whether she would keep them safe from this virus thing they'd heard about if they did. They were explaining about the travel kit. Before the angel had chance to respond Tim lost his footing and fell off the petal and down through the branches into the foliage below.

"But please", Jenny continued to plead with the angel. "It doesn't quite work like that" said the angel. "Now, I suggest you go and look for Tim and make sure he is ok first."

Jenny climbed carefully back down and then spent ages looking for Tim. She called his name and could hear a faint reply. She had to have help from the gardener to clear some of the foliage carefully and sort through it. Eventually, together, they found Tim (extra). "There you are! We thought we'd lost you" they both said. Tim was ok because he had a soft landing. "The angel must have been watching over me" he said thankfully.

Jenny was so pleased that Tim was ok that she forgot all about asking about a holiday again. They went back indoors, to a place of safety.   "Stay Home, Stay Safe" they chorused.
