Frigadebirds fight for food

The fishermen fed the birds with fish in harbor of Puerto Morales. The pelicans got the food near boats. The flying frigadebirds robbed the food from the pelicans, because they are specialized in it, it's in their behavior. The frigadebirds are very good flyers, they are often compared with the albatrosses. They never land in the water because they cannot start flying from the water.

Hier you can see three females very close to each others fighting for the food and one youngster (female or male) learning for the future life.

It was a memorable performance to see the huge frigadebirds with about 2 meter wingspans to fight for food with the pelicans.
