Alder moth

This lovely moth was waiting for me in my moth trap this morning - which was a nice surprise as it is not a moth I catch every year.
The Alder moth Acronicta alni, is thinly scattered across most of England and Wales. The larvae feed on Alder and Birch.

Grateful today for a moth trap that may not be giving quantity, but it certainly is giving quality!
