Emerging poppy

I noticed this new splash of red in the flower border and I was attracted to the wrinkled appearance of the fresh petals, just like a creased silk ball gown.

A bit of a strange day today with mist shrouding the landscape around us. Mother-in-law isn't too well at the moment with an infection which has caused her to lose her appetite so I made and delivered some soup for her. I hope the new antibiotics work.
