Sally Mair - Loving life

Bluebells

Don't you just love it when you see that glimmer of blue through the trees and you realise that there is a floating carpet of bluebells just around the corner.
Another scorcher of a day today. I went out for a walk first thing, enjoying the cycle track before it gets too busy.
We spent time in the garden having coffee after I came back. We were low on veg, so I went on a quick sortie to the two farm shops, knowing they would be quiet. Hands sanitised and mask in place I ventured out. In the first I picked up some local strawberries, pulled a lettuce from its grow bag, some local tomatoes and some asparagus from Lunan Bay. In the second, I visited the butcher's, then picked up a Fisher and Donaldson loaf and a strawberry Danish, the latter of course being the essential. Even better though was bumping into a real live friend, only the second of those that I've seen in over two months.
Back home in time for lunch, a black pudding roll, delicious. We went out for a second walk today, across Ravelston Golf Course today then up Corstorphine Hill, where we saw the bluebells, there still seem to be plenty around, back down into Hillpark and home.
We had dinner in the garden, so nice to be able to do this.

Early night tonight, big day tomorrow :-)

Keep safe everybody, the rules are working and we're getting there. Soon we'll be able to ease back into a degree of normality.
