Monday 23 March 2009: Wall on a stick
Slightly bizarre blip today due to shortage of half-decent material...
This section of wall has been suspended at the rear of the Argos car-park in Bath for the last 18 months or so. Apparently it was put there to show local people what the buildings that make up the new Southgate redevelopment were going to look like before construction started on the site.
These bath stone facades are prefabricated in Italy (I think) using local (i.e. west-country) materials, then shipped back to the UK for assembly on site. Sigh... so much for the environment! What a wonderful globalised world we live in - not!
