The historic St John's Church on Ponsonby Road is on the market. Built in the 1880s, he first service was held in the church on 30 April 1882. The church has Category B classification from Heritage New Zealand, and is described as "a fine example of a timber ecclesiastical building in the Gothic Revival style". It has "high aesthetic importance" for both its exterior style, and ornate interior.

The vendors (the Auckland Samoan Parish of the Methodist Church) have followed their congregation from Ponsonby, Grey Lynn and Herne Bay to relocate in South Auckland, due to the change from undesirable places to live to Herne Bay becoming the most expensive residential housing in New Zealand.

Today was the tenth consecutive day without any new case of Covid-19. And there were only three in the couple of weeks before this long case-free period. On my afternoon jog (which is when I got my blip) the more normal numbers of pedestrians on Ponsonby Road for a public holiday, and the vast majority are still observing careful physical distancing as we pass.
