Squiggly Lines

Strong shadow patterns from the evening sun caught my eye and I tried a few combinations looking for a pleasing composition. The lines provide a lead into the image and I tried to make the log sticking out of the water and its shadow a focal point. I'm not sure how successful my plan was.

The algae looks pretty yucky, but I hoped, by abstracting it, to use it as a background texture. It almost looks solid.

I managed to get a shot of a woodpecker which was way above me (extra).
