Odd and grey

I did write odd but Cobweb is old too - about 16 I think.

She spends most of the time curled up in her favourite spot. Her current one is a small box on the chest freezer, taking advantage of a little warmth that emanates from the back.

But today, although it was chilly, she suddenly came racing across the field to join me and Casey inspecting the badger setts along the wall.  She was as frisky as a kitten and here she's posing in the window of a ruined hen house in the corner of the field.

It's Cobweb's eyes that are odd. The right one turned dark brown a few years ago. I gather it's something that can happen to cats in old age and is nothing to worry about. There's no indication that she can't see as well as ever.

There's a lovely series of photographs here of an old and grey Japanese woman and her odd-eyed white cat. They really are worth a look.
