LOCK DOWN DAY 84

84 days, 12 weeks, 3 months? Whatever you want to call it?

On day 6 of lock down it was reported in the news that lock down could possibly go on for 12 weeks. 12 weeks seemed like a life time away and Ann's 'mental health' definitely wasn't very good on day 6. Well, now we've done our 12 weeks and for a single person like my very lovely owner, Ann, there hasn't been any major changes in her lifestyle since day 1. All she's done for the last 12 weeks is walk me twice a day and go to Aldi once a week. However just to reassure you all; her 'mental health' is fine these days as she's come to terms with the fact that in these times of lock down it's OK to be a lazy slob and watch TV all day.

BUT, there's always a but isn't there? …................Bit of a RANT coming on here..........................

We're talking English rules here; because in Scotland we still can't do anything?!!

Single people, without any family, just don't seem to have been thought about at all in the plans for easing out of lock down. For example, Ann (as a single person) could go and stay with her sister's family in a 'social bubble' where there are 5 adults living. (Mum, dad and three kids in their 20s). These 5 people are all doing their own thing – working, shopping, meeting up with friends outside, etc, etc.

Meanwhile 'single human Ann', can't have other 'single people' round to her flat, even though her single friends have been out less than her because they don't own a gorgeous little collie pup like me that needs walks. But hey ho, it's perfectly OK for my human to go and 'social bubble' with 5 other adults who have been out here, there and everywhere.

...............And yet it's not OK for us to spend time alone in our Cornish home where she would be doing exactly the same as she is in Edinburgh. Ie walking me twice a day. And staying 'home alone' to spruce up her house ready for the summer holiday makers.

Totally understand that the government can't make policies for everything, but for my human and her 'single' friends............................... 12 weeks is long enough to be isolated. We're going to try to stick it out for another couple of weeks............ But after that we'll be 'breaking the rules'. Enough is enough!!!

Oh and if anyone is interested, I went in the car to Portobello Beach today to play with my yellow ball. It was very misty but I didn't care. I ran and ran and ran and ran. And when I got tired I just flopped down in the sea for a little rest.

And there was absolutely NO 'social distancing' going on at the little coffee van (see extras). #justsaying
