Pond Life

Barkbooth Lot again today.  This single picture has quite a lot of activity in it - they are all at it!  The Emperor dragonfly is in the act of ovipositing while, to her right, a pair of Azure damselflies are coupled together for ovipositing.  If you look carefully there are some water bugs on the lilypad to the right that have also been 'active' and on the left of the picture is an Azure damselfly that was buzzing and attempting to mob the Emperor for some reason.

We have still seen none of this 'significant' rain that we keep hearing about on the news but it does feel much more threatening today so we may get some later.
