Beautiful Planet...

...is a cafe dedicated to environmental awareness that opened in Friargate last year. Run entirely by volunteers, it manages to open every day and provide a friendly welcome to everyone who calls by. It also hosts regular music nights in the evenings. Last night they were generous enough to lend my friend Avital (on right) the key, so that she could use the place as a venue for her birthday celebration. About 25 friends came, most of them with musical instruments or at least voices. It was a wonderfully good-natured, delightful event. Tom (on the left) wasn't even invited, but happened by with his partner as we were opening up and was invited to stay. He and I were in a play together two years ago. The oldest person there (by a distance), I fell asleep around 2am, I guess, and woke at 4.30 as the last people were leaving.
