Seattle Seaplanes

Part of my Fairview One Street

one salvaged sea plane
to land anyplace you wish
would you like a ride?

This is just to the left of here a few days ago blip. Part of Lake Union Dry dock, this, one of 2 float plane companies on the lake, used to be called Chrysler Air. Long ago I had a ride on a different plane of Jim Chrysler's , to our place in the gulf islands (It's an hour instead of 5 by car and ferry) and we asked Jim where he could land. He replied "anywhere in any condition!" I do wish it was affordable now.
However, not on this little blue plane. Altho H says he has seen it fly, it mostly sits here. Jim salvaged it from a beach in Alaska where it was abandoned and brought it to Seattle, we think on a barge. Edit: the website says this little 1947 2 seater is "under restoration".

I thought I should take advantage of another of our meandering walks (perfect for photographers!) as they are going to end in this daily way soon. :-) yea! Altho the stitches aren't out til the end of the week (that's 3 weeks...) H is getting mighty tired of no "real" exercise and I think tomorrow we're at least climbing those 300 steps! (explanation: he had surgery on 2 different skin cancers in the last few weeks- not life threatening at this stage- just darned annoying- too many hours out on a sailboat -and wasn't supposed to raise his bp or break a sweat or pick up anything heavy). It's been weirdly quiet around here. And altho I kind of liked the break in routine, I'll be happy to get back to "normal".
Remember to wear sunscreen!
