Social distancing enforcer in Humshaugh!
Today has not been a great day. I was too hot and the house was too hot and I could not do anything!
The main road was closed for repair works. We assumed it would be resurfaced because the closure was for two days. Not at all. They arrived noisily at about 0800, finally started work sometime later and were gone long before 1300. A few bits of wear were superficially patched. Not impressed.
I watched a good interview from the Royal Society of Medicine tonight. Vikki Heywood, CBE, previously of Royal Court, RSC and now the National Theatre was talking about her life in the theatre and how she sees the future. She is an optimist so very cheering.
I went to walk at about 8pm. It was still stifling but better than earlier. In Beechcroft a few people were having a socially distanced chat. Here is my friend Liz, who appears to be prepared to use the knife is anyone goes near to her. She had been cutting broccoli from another garden. The owners were there, so it was all above board.
We had a pleasant chat. It is SO good to talk to people face to face again.
Tomorrow we are going to keep all the windows and curtains closed to see if we can lower the temperature in the house.
