Flooding near Loweswater

This is the river Cocker at Lanthwaite near Loweswater...We often park here in the National Trust car park when we want to walk at Crummock Water.

I don't think the rain stopped once yesterday!

It kept going this morning too!

All this water will eventually pass by our cottage in Cockermouth. ( the river Cocker is 12 miles long. ) It takes it's name from the Brythonic Celtic word kukrã meaning crooked.

It's a good job we have a flood wall!

Last Thursday was the heat wave...then it turned into a Monsoon.

The Great British Summer!!!
