A Cold Walk

We found ourselves down in Portobello so early that the children were still on their way to school and it seemed barely light.

Again it was the faulty car key which brought us down to the seaside. It had to be handed in to the garage at the crack of dawn in order that they could rejig the the whole locking system of the car and issue us with new keys. As this would take two hours we decided on a walk along the prom and beyond.

Thank goodness for the early opening of the Beach Cafe which afforded us a hot cup of tea as we were beginning to freeze in the icy wind and flurries of sleety snow.

Now we are home with a functioning remote control car key and a bill which could have afforded a down payment on a new car or taxi fares for at least a year.
Technology comes at a price.
