Amaranthus, Kniphofia and Yucca

This selection of plants in our garden was all the reminder of Fourth of July fireworks. The yucca produced its own fireworks a couple of weeks ago, but they are short lived...

They can be spectacular, but they are also stand for 'the
'rocket's red glare' and are loud, fire hazards and attract crowds, none of which is desirable on this hot day during a pandemic. Worst of all, this holiday has been appropriated by the boy president who finds it the perfect tool for self aggrandizement. Our local fireworks have been cancelled but that doesn't stop him from throwing a couple of parts of the country and pulling out all the stops with fireworks, military bands and Air Force fly overs in honor of himself.

I wonder if he will count his popularity based on how many people are infected with Covid 19?
