Reduced to Rubble

flossie hemming's house
came down today
with dust and grinding splinter
board and roof suddenly doomed,
debris wrecked walls done in, demolished.

did she feel each terrible tearing bite?
does she know her bedroom's gone?
the toothsome bucket curling
hydrolic boom and blade
reduced that room to rubble.

where is that little yellow haired girl
who pulled on her socks and shoes
and was out the door to play
so very long ago?
