Going home

Last night it was Tommy and Inca's turn to cook dinner and they made the most superb meal of sea bass, ratatouille and a wonderful side dish of avocado, tomato and prawns. I started packing up after dinner, so this morning when I got up I did not have too much packing to do other than clear the kitchen, so we could take Xena for a walk before we left.

Of course it was the most glorious day, typical that the best day of the week is the day you leave a holiday destination. We went for a short walk into the town and I took this photo from the coastal path.

We had an easy journey home, the traffic always crawls around Stonehenge but at least it gave me an opportunity to take a drive by photo through the car window, as can be seen in my extras. We did however see the aftermath of a horrific car accident on the M3. By the time we passed the scene there were 5 fire trucks, many police cars and a few ambulances. Not sure what happened but there was a Range Rover with it's roof cut off and it was so mangled it would be a miracle if the occupants came out of that alive.

After unpacking and repacking, Tommy and Inca left to go to her family home and then tomorrow they are going camping in Dorset for four days. Adam leaves to go back to Cambridge tonight as he starts in the lab tomorrow. Luke will stay home for a few days before returning to London- he is back to college now until the end of August, but of course it is online although in real time so he is desk bound all day.

It was a wonderful holiday to Devon, but it is lovely to be home again. Xena also had a great holiday and will miss everyone with the reduced household again from this week.
