Day 7 Montalcino to Montepulciano

We got up super early and after a breakfast in the local bar we set of on 28 miles in more blistering heat. Our host was very nice allowing us to put the bikes in the wine shop she told us yo make sure we locked the door after us, but we discovered it had been unlocked all night by her.

The ride was easy to start with but we hit some unexpected gravel on a steep long uphill. Although the tracks ate pretty they are so draining.

It's supposed to cool down soon.Tuscan towns are all on the top of big hills it seems so our short ride involved 3200ft of climbing More beautiful scenery taking us to the wine town of Montepulciano which is very pretty but perhaps less so than Montalcino
