The Life of Bri

ToolTime again

Another favourite tool of mine. This one actually was my Dad's, passed on to me when I bought my first flat. Not sure exactly how old it is - maybe late 70s/early 80s - I once saw one in a window display of 'historic' Black & Decker products.

I once read that the average electric drill sold in the UK is actually run for something like 11 minutes in it's entire lifetime (can't find a reference now). Not this one. 'Made in England', the casing is half-metal, half-plastic and it weighs a ton, but it keeps drilling and drilling.

Every so often I am tempted by a sexy new cordless DeWalt. They might be more convenient and less heavy on the wrist, but I doubt if it will drill a hole as satisfyingly as this one.
